Welcome to @#%* airways! And that’s when I came into existence. A thousand eyes set upon me, a thousands suns burned in me. The flight was ready to take off, but the fight in me had just started!

Giving the passengers the so called “safety” instructions, I had to put on a plastic smile of concern and care. I had put on the best make up, combed my hair to best style and beneath all this glittery world, there was me. I could sense the eyeballs starting to stretch as soon as the plane took off. Keeping my smile fixed, I started to act generous. Relaying the food trolley, I went on doing my job behind those weird, cheap, merciful looks. I could sense a group of guys making some lewd comments and could sense their inherent giggling. But yet I had to serve them above the raging fire that was about to burn them. Their lewd comments, cheap jokes was all stuffed inside my “careful”, “generous” plate of sandwich. I could sense someone scanning my knees. Someone having a vulgar kaleidoscope to look through. The constant ordering, just so that they can have a glance, the weird faces that women make when they see me in such a role, the sly looks from elder people and yet the same constant, fixed and stoned smile that I had to put up.

Seeing some feminine faces, I could certainly make out their merciful and lowly looks. A job of air hostess/stewardess isn’t much respected, I guessed. Air hostess- A name rightly given, a host on which these “parasites” feed upon. I was being sucked by these quizzed, cheap, pitiful, tawdry leach-ed looks. I asked myself, “Should I still be hospital and unprejudiced?” Doubts and disdain filled my heart and fear of being just a parasite to these eyes made me cringe. Just as I was about to lose my morality, I saw a teenage boy looking at me with intense, pure and resplendent eyes. A spark of respect, an antidote to this filth and a corner of affection from that boy changed my heart. I had passed through the perforated vision of different minds.

Forgetting, forgiving, I put on a smile, not plastic but pompous and sparkling!
